The State of Colorado, in the United States, has brought to the public coffers $ 1 billion dollars in taxes on the sale of cannabis, licenses and taxes since it was legalized in 2014.

This according the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) who reported that the numbers continue to grow. The dispensaries have reported earnings of $ 114.3 million in sales in March.

The money must be distributed according to Amendment 64 which says that at least $ 40 million dollars should be used to build schools and contribute to student loans.

In addition to public funds for social programs, the data show that companies have contributed jobs in the communities. According to a previous study, the legal industry in this State employs 41,076 people.
