“We used seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (SARIMA) models to assess associations between cannabis legalization in Canada and weekly emergency department visit counts; however, there was no evidence of significant effects of staggered function associated with cannabis legalization on weekly emergency department post-legalization counts” the study reported.
Given the potentially idiosyncratic rollout of cannabis legalization in Canada, more research will be required to establish whether the study results generalize to other settings; the research group concluded.
